KOApumpkinsThe Pumpkin Patch Express, part of the Texas State Railroad, will run from the Rusk Depot every Saturday and Sunday in October. Children ages 2 – 12 can pick a pumpkin from the patch, enjoy a hayride and games, and have a blast at Trick or Treat Street. Guests are welcome to wear costumes, so show us your best cowboys and girls, princes and princesses, movie characters and ghouls!

Santa ClausStop by the Cherokee Civic Theatre on December 20, 2014 from 7 – 10 p.m. for Christmas in the Pines. Blue grass gospel music will fill the air with catchy beats and beautiful harmonies. “Cowboy” will be the Master of Ceremony, and the event will feature Harmony Ridge Blue Grass Band. Rusk Gospel Quartet will also perform. Celebrate this night of merriment and bringing blue grass back to East Texas. Tickets are just $10.

Or take a short drive out to Palestine on December 13, 2014 for Cookies and Crafts with Santa beginning at 1 p.m. at the Palestine Public Library. Enjoy a cheery time with the Jolly Old Man himself. There will be plenty of Christmas crafts for the kids, including ornament making. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to snap photos of their kids with Santa.
