Like many cities and towns across the country, Bastrop has an art walk on one evening every month.
The event on the first Friday is an opportunity to browse through galleries and shops, as well as listen to live music and dine. A wide variety of creative works from local and national artists is displayed. The location is the historic downtown area, and admission is free. Hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Karaoke at Old Town Restaurant
Do you like to sing? If so, you’ll want to attend some of the karaoke sessions at the Old Town Restaurant. They are held every Friday night from 8 p.m. to midnight. The eatery is a friendly place that serves delicious burgers, wraps, steak and other typical American fare. They feature a different special on every weekday, and the one on Friday happens to be New York strip steak. The location is 931 Main Street.
