The Wichita Falls sports scene has something for everyone during winter. Your options include the home games of local ice hockey and basketball teams. In addition, the city has an ice skating venue and several golf courses where you can get some great exercise.

Ice Hockey and Basketball

January competitions include the following:

  • The Wichita Falls Wildcats ice hockey team will play the Shreveport Mudbugs on January 6 and 7. The venue is Kay Yeager Coliseum, and tickets range from $7 to $15.
  • Both the Men’s’ and Women’s’ basketball teams from Midwestern State University have some home games scheduled during the coming weeks. The venue is D. L. Ligon Coliseum, and tickets range from $3 to $8.

Ice Skating

People of all ages love the feeling of gliding on the ice. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you can engage in the sport of ice skating at the Wichita Ice Center. If you’re going to be in the area for a while, you can even take a few lessons offered by the enterprise. The address is 505 W. Maple.

Golf

Our winters are mild enough for enjoying an afternoon out on the links. You can choose from Weeks Park Golf, River Creek Golf Course or Hawk Ridge Golf Club.
