Thomas Mercantile

Founded in 1913, the Thomas Mercantile is a quaint, charming gift shop that will take you back in time in the most enjoyable way. Terry Thomas-Smith, the current owner, is the fourth generation of the family to operate the enterprise. You’ll be warmly welcomed as you come in and browse through an array of gift items that include candles, lotions, soaps, jewelry accessories and food items.

Jack Thomas, the owner’s father, is a WWII POW who sits on the porch and greets patrons. Within the store, you’re likely to see Kiku Thomas, the owner’s aunt, whose handmade pillowcases and aprons are available for purchase.

A visit to this store is a must. The address is 2464 Old Highway 35 N. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
