The pine forests of East Texas are the place to be during December. During the Nine Flags Christmas Festival, Nacogdoches has several events that are sure to put you in the holiday mood.
Nine Flags Christmas Parade
Downtown Nacogdoches will be the scene of the biggest lighted Christmas Parade in East Texas on December 3. The event will include food and music as well as arts and crafts. Hours are 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
There is something so timeless and beautiful about hearing grand old Christmas carols played by brass instruments. Tis the Season Christmas Exhibit
On December 10, head over to the Sterne-Hoya House Museum & Library to get a glimpse into what Christmas was like in the mid-1800s. The Tis the Season Exhibit will provide interesting information about the holiday foods, topics of conversation, parties and games of this era. Wassail will be served on the front porch. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and admission is free. The address is 211 S. Lanana Street.
