San Antonio has so much to see and do that it’s hard to know where to begin. The next few weeks hold a variety of Christmas activities and sporting events.

On the evening of November 25, the Riverwalk will be the scene of the Ford Holiday River Parade. You can watch it from some points of the 2 1/2-route without charge, but you may want to bring a chair. If you prefer to see the event from one of the best vantage spots, seats are available for purchase; and the cost ranges from $15 to $40.

Prior to the parade’s start at 6 p.m., carolers will sing at three downtown bridges. Ticket holders in the Arneson River Theatre area can listen to a concert from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sporting Events

The city is home to the San Antonio Spurs, the basketball team, and the San Antonio Rampage, the ice hockey team. Check their schedule to see if a home game coincides with your visit.

Handel’s Messiah

Down through the ages, people from across the country and overseas have made attending Handel’s Messiah one of their annual traditions. The San Antonio Symphony will present the masterpiece at various venues between November 25 and December 4. Admission is $25.
