Beginning November 25 and continuing through December 31, you can enjoy the Bastrop River of Lights. This holiday tradition involves 120 lighted displays along the Colorado River, starting at Fisherman’s Park and ending at Ferry Park. The half-mile of themed exhibits are quite beautiful and are sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Bishop Harvest Art Fest
The Bishop Harvest Art Fest on November 25 and 26 comes just in time for the launch of the Christmas shopping season. Held at the 1832 Farmers Market in downtown Bastrop, the extravaganza offers handmade arts and crafts from area artists and artisans. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On November 26, participating shops and stores downtown will be offering patrons cups of wassail at the Wassail Fest. You can cast your vote for the enterprise serving the best tasting recipe for the holiday beverage.
The city’s Christmas Parade on December 10 will feature more than 100 floats and participants. This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays.” Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
