Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail System

resized san antonioHere at San Antonio KOA, campers are a mere five miles away from the bustling downtown area with all of its major attractions, such as The Alamo, Sea World and the San Fernando Cathedral. Yet residents are also in an area where they can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, being amidst 40 acres of pecan trees. After an exciting day of seeing the sights in town, it’s nice to return to this retreat.

The campground is next to the Greenway Trail System, an area where campers can get their exercise through walking in beautiful surroundings along San Antonio’s original river. Situated on the west side of the park, this multiuse trail system has lovely vistas of Salado Creek, surrounded by tall hardwood trees and rippling springs that come from the nearby hillside.

The trail is not hard to navigate, with jogging slopes covering 5 percent in a couple of areas. The length of the trail is 2.3 miles.

You couldn’t ask for a more idylic setting for a walk. Visit our website and reserve your spot today.
