A Christmas Carol

Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, will be presented at the Kalita Humphrey Theatre starting November 20 and continuing through the month of December. Campers at Dallas / Arlington KOA can launch their Christmas season by attending this heartwarming play that portrays the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge from a selfish, mean-spirited man into a generous man filled with joy.

Another lovely event coming up is the Christmas Market on November 29 through December 15 at Rangers Ballpark. An enchanting affair, the market is similar to those held in Germany during the Christmas season. The free event will feature German food and entertainment, as well as arts, crafts and gifts.

Those looking for a restaurant open on Thanksgiving Day can go to the Thanksgiving Buffet at the Admiral Hotel in Arlington. The price for an adult is $14.94.

Art Walk

Every third Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the downtown area has an Art Walk, featuring museums, galleries and merchants, as well as music venues and library exhibits. Campers from San Angelo KOA can spend a pleasant evening browsing in the area and perhaps grabbing a bite to eat.

It won’t be long before Christmas will be upon us. Our community celebrates this magical season wonderfully with the artistry of the Concho Christmas Light Tour, a display of life-size, hand-painted Christmas cards. In addition to the 3 million lights, the celebration will include a nativity, tree lighting and Christmas parade, along with a radio broadcast. The Tour of Lights will open December 7 and the parade will be December 8.

Here at our park, we have a Thanksgiving and Christmas potluck lunch, where we provide the turkey, ham and dressing, and everyone brings a dish of their choice. It’s a lot of fun to celebrate these special holidays together and all campers are welcome. Visit our website and book your spot today.

Friday Fest

Flea market shopping can be an adventure, as you never know what treasure you may find. On the evening of November 2, Spring, Texas, only a half hour’s drive from Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground, will host Friday Fest, an event that flea market fanciers will enjoy. Featuring more than 200 vendors and a food court, as well as live music and a playground for children, the festivity has something for everyone.

Before we know it, the Christmas holidays will be here, so it’s a good idea to get a jump on Christmas shopping before the mad crush. A great area to do this is the Houston Galleria, a large sprawling complex of shops, including international brand names, along with chain stores. And after you’ve shopped until you’re ready to drop, you can rest and watch the ice skaters in the indoor rink.

Our park is a convenient distance from Houston’s attractions. Visit our website and make your reservations today.

Discover This East Texas Gem

Nestled amidst the tall East Texas pines is a gem of a campground with some unusual features. Rusk KOA offers the community on-site catering, providing your choice of gourmet fare like Chateaubriand or everyday fare like hamburgers and hot dogs for any special occasion, such as weddings or family reunions.

Antiquing is a popular pursuit in our area, as shops scattered throughout the region beckon visitors to browse through furniture, collectibles and more. When poking around these quaint establishments, you never know what treasure you’ll find.

Weekends are a particularly nice time to stay here, as campers can enjoy live music from country-western singer Ron Shepherd. After a day of antiquing, imagine how delightful it will be to relax and be entertained by this performer.

Rusk is blessed to be close to Tyler, the rose capital of the world. Coming up on October 18 through 20, is the Texas Rose Festival, an event that will include a rose parade, garden tours and floral shows, as well as an arts and crafts fair.
